Redoubt Red Ale
Redoubt Bay, south of Sitka, is a favorite fishing spot for Sockeye Salmon. Also called Red Salmon, this famous species turns bright red and green before spawning in the summer.
Our red, also a local favorite, gets its rich color from roasted barley. A blend of four hops gives it big flavor and aroma.

Malts: two row, crystal
Hops: nugget, cascade, CTZ, Mt. Hood
Baranof Brown Ale
In the early 1800s when Sitka's economy depended on whale parts and animal pelts, Alexander Baranov governed the land in the name of the Russian-American Company. He must have impressed someone because they named the 1600 square mile island on which the brewery sits after him.
Our brown ale doesn't know anything about fur trading, but its chocolate malt does make it as sweet and smooth as a baby seal.

Malts: two row, crystal, brown, chocolate, black, roasted barley, flaked oats
Hops: nugget, cascade, CTZ
Silver Bay IPA
Tucked away at the south end of Sitka's road system, you'll find Silver Bay. Abundant marine life and the impressive sheer face of Bear Mountain make it especially photogenic. Soon after the brewery opened, a rough and tumble bunch of girls who work at a fish processing plant on Silver Bay came in for samples and noticed our IPA was not yet named. They recommended Silver Bay IPA then attempted to wipe out our supply.
Also rough and tumble, our IPA is hoppy with plenty of flavor.

Malts: two row, wheat, crystal, carapils
Hops: nugget, cascade, CTZ
Peril Strait Pale Ale
Perilously narrow with strong, ripping tides, the strait is also the infamous site of one of the worst cases of shellfish poisoning in history. In 1799, 150 seal fur hunters had a no-doubt delicious last dinner but didn't make it through to the next day.
Our pale ale is not poisonous and is the perfect crisp, cold beverage for a sunny Southeast Alaska day. (We know they're rare, so we tested, and it tastes pretty good in the rain too.) Pairs well with shellfish.

Malts: two row, crystal, wheat
Hops: nugget, cascade, willamette
Halibut Point Hefeweisen
A few miles north of downtown Sitka, you can beach comb and barbecue at the Halibut Point Recreation Site (locally known as "The Rec").
The park is named after the flat, weird-eyed monster that can grow to nine feet in length and weigh up to 500 pounds. It may be the strangest fish lurking in Alaskan waters, but it lures fisherman from all over the world.
We hope our Hefeweisen can do the same. Already cosmopolitan with its German name (hefe meaning yeast) and brewed in the traditional manner (mostly wheat malt), the Hefe is a crowd pleaser.
4.5% ABV
Malts: wheat, two row, vienna, crystal
Hops: nugget, cascade, CTZ
Medvejie Stout
Medvejie Lake, south of Sitka, is tough as far as lakes go. The steep cliffsides surrounding the glacial lake give it a frequent wind tunnel effect, and it's only accessible by foot or float plane.
Derived from the Russian word for bear, Medvejie is pronounced meh-duh-VEE-gee locally (but probably not in Russia).
Our stout is also strong like the bear. Fueled by flaked oats, roasted barley and chocolate malts, it also packs some heat with 7.25% ABV.
Malts: two row, crystal, brown, chocolate, black, flaked oats, roasted barley
Hops: nugget, cascade, willamete
Ben's Brew Root Beer
Ben is also located in Sitka. He is the son of brewery founders Rick and Suzan.
Carbonated and sweetened, this non-alcoholic soft drink is perfect for root beer floats. Great for kids, teetotalers and those on antibiotics.
0% ABV
Flavorings: Root Beer
Sugars: Organic
Water: Carbonated Blue Lake
